Our year in science follows the North Carolina Standard Course of Study.  We will be covering the following concepts:

1. •    1st Term: Chemicals and Health, Cell theory, structure and function, cell processes, microbes, infectious disease, disease prevention, and biotechnology  
   

2. •    2nd Term:  Evolution and geologic time, geologic change and mapping the Earth.
   

3. •    3rd Term: Introduction to matter, periodic table, and chemical reactions.
   

4. •    4th Term:   Properties of water, freshwater, water quality, oceans, and aquatic biology.
   

Students will experience various hands on activities throughout the year, such as: labs, projects, investigations, seminars, etc.
